Welcome to the African and Caribbean society on our Bloomsbury campus.

The aim of our society is to provide a wide range of opportunities in order to help educate, entertain and empower all our members.

Agora Society

 

You are cordially invited to join the Agora Society! We are a socially conscious organization that is committed to establishing strong networking ties through innovative approaches.

Our goals are to develop each member into a self-assured and well-presented individual in both social and professional settings

 

Akwaaba

 

Akwaaba, which translates to 'welcome' in the Ghanaian dialect Twi, aims to welcome and bring together all Ghanaians at the University of Law.

This would be a social, educational and cultural society to make every Ghanaian student feel at home.

 

Bar Society - London Bloomsbury & Moorgate

 

The University of Law London Bar Society aims to make the Bar accessible through opportunities and networking to help students navigate their journey to becoming an advocate.

 

Board Game Society

 

The Board Games Society aims to hold board games evenings weekly, whether it is at the University Campus or outside.

Our aim is to allow students to take a break from their studies and relax with their peers by playing games, including Monopoly, Articulate, Checkers, Chess, Cluedo and more.

We are open to suggestions!

 

Canadian Law Students Association

 

A society dedicated to educating students about the process of legal accreditation for UK trained lawyers in Canada, and opportunity for Canadian students to meet and interact with each other.

 

Chess Club

 

Hey everyone!

We are in the process of creating a chess society for the Bloomsbury Campus.

Our aim is to create a space where people can play, learn and watch chess. We, as a club, are motivated to grow chess at the University. 

 

Commercial Awareness Society

 

The Commercial Awareness Society seeks to help students understand, enrich and display commercial awareness to equip them with the skills needed to excel in applications and in the working world.

 

Debating Society

 

The intent and purpose of this society is to inculcate debating culture, including but not limited to the Parliamentary format of debating (British and Asian).

We'd like to train and practice with people interested in Debating just as much as we are. We'll host orientations, practice debates, cool, fun and chill sessions arguing and anything and everything.

 

Diversity in Law Society

 

Students come to ULaw to study, but the students often spend time studying and briefly interacting with other students.

They don't have a chance to interact more deeply and meaningfully with other students about their life experiences and their stories before coming to ULaw.

 

Environmental Society

 

Bloomsbury Environment Society engages students in issues of environmental law, sustainability and current affairs in this sector.

This Society gathers like-minded students through social, educational and campaigning events. We aim to learn from each other and industry professionals.

 

First Love

 

We are a Christian society with an aim to engage and support students from diverse *backgrounds*, through the lens of Christian teachings. We also offer an array of opportunities for young people to exercise their talents in music, dance and drama.

We are part of a network of societies in universities across the UK, who collaborate regularly for events and extra-curricular activities.

We are the Human Rights at ULaw Bloomsbury.

Join us to discuss the importance of or get information on relevant world events, as well as broaden your general knowledge of global affairs.

International Students Society

 

A society celebrating all of the diversity that international students bring to our university!

As a society, our aim is to bring together all international students to create an environment that is comfortable and friendly for everyone.

We want to establish a space where students can get to know each other, share cultures and network as we understand how daunting a new city, country and university can be.

Islam is a religion founded in peace, spirituality and brotherhood.

This society is an extension of that with brotherhood being a core value.

We engage in a variety of activities from meet & greets, trips, discussions and charity.

Law Trivia  Society

 

Providing Student interactive quiz events at local Pubs.

This will encourage meet and greets within the same academic year and promote revision throughout the difficult coursework.

It will also provide an outlet for those exhausted with studies and encourage an outlet for new students who may otherwise be overwhelmed by the demands of Law School.

 

Mock Trial and Debate Society

 

We will aim to provide a service where students are able to express the knowledge they have gained in an environment that will emulate a real-life courtroom.

Our goal is to make mock trials and debates in a safe environment where ideas and opinions are open and accepted.

 

Mooting Society

 

The society aims to provide all students a chance to practice their advocacy skills and gain experience on what it is like to participate in a moot.

Whether you are new to mooting or have already had experience as a mooter, we hope to run regular moots that will allow you to understand what it is like to advocate in court.

 

Pakistani Society

 

Bloomsbury Pakistani Society [Or PakSoc] is about promoting the culture of Pakistan, and is open to everyone!

We also want to be able to give a sense of home to those international students who may be missing it while they are studying in the UK.

 

People of African Descent Society

 

The Society of People of African Descent - ("PAD Society") is created to empower and inspire people of African descent and African students at The University of Law.

PAD is a name given to People of African Descent born and raised outside the African continent. This includes Black and Brown people who identify themselves as African Descendants.  

 

Red Cross on Campus Society

 

We work directly with the Red Cross UK in achieving their goal to support victims across global emergencies.

Our society will promote any opportunities to work for the Red Cross as well as help out in fundraising and raising awareness.

Joining our society can be a great way for passionate students to get involved in global affairs through one of the most reputable public humanitarian services and can be an amazing addition to your CV!

 

South Asian Society

 

All are welcome to come together as one and to both celebrate and educate about South Asian culture.

This society aims to provide a sense of comfort & cohesion amongst South Asian students at the University of Law. We want to bring individuals together, embrace the culture and also become friends!

Spanish Society

 

We are an organisation devoted to the Spanish language and culture, and we want to foster a sense of belonging among all students studying the language, but especially among all students who are interested in learning more about our fascinating culture and language.

We want to demonstrate to ULaw students just how powerful the Spanish community in London can be.

 

Table Tennis

 

Table Tennis (or 'Ping Pong') is a racquet sport consisting of 2 players (sometimes more). Players are to serve the ball across the table and over the net and are expected to hit the ball back in return.

Who are We?

We are the Table Tennis Club, originally based in London Bloomsbury. 

 

Taboo

 

This is an open-door society that gives people a chance to discuss and debate taboo subjects.

It is also a warm place to bring personal mental health struggles or ideas to the table if you want.

It is a relaxed environment to discuss things such as: men's mental health, effects of alcohol on the mind, cognitive diversities and many more.

 

The Asian Society

 

We are the Asian Society based in London Bloomsbury.

We welcome those who come from an Asian heritage or background.

We are dedicated to spreading wisdom and knowledge from different parts of Asia.

 

The Ethnics Society

 

The purpose of the ethnic society is to combine cultures and organise events that are purely based on having fun and creating good memories that we can keep with us when we leave University.

 

The International & Human Rights Law Society

 

The International Law & Human Rights Society aims to bring together students with an interest in these two fast-developing areas of law, which are geopolitically significant and whose impact resonate in the life of many the world over.

 

The Law School Challenge

 

The Law School Challenge aims to raise funds for LawWorks and Advocate to support the facilitation of free legal advice and to raise awareness of the services available.

This society has been set up to co-ordinate the University of Law Bloomsbury Campus's fundraising efforts!

Women In Suits

 

Women in suits is a society that promotes the inclusion of women in the legal and business sector while reflecting the diversity of our society.

This society supports and advises all women, enacts positive change for equality, and attempts to make a difference for gender equality. Undoubtedly, there is still more to be done.

Our key aims include creating a platform for women and men to discuss how to support women in the legal and business sector and developing a platform for professional networks to be established between women across various sectors.
