Safe Inclusive Campus

At the University of Law, we have a global outlook and connect across different cultures. We are a diverse, inclusive community where everyone is welcomed and valued, and our differences are a source of strength. All staff and students are expected to treat others with dignity and respect, embracing diversity of experience and background that allows people to do their best and thrive.

The University has a zero-tolerance approach to bullying or harassment of any kind and has developed codes of behaviour for staff and students together with an online reporting platform for those experiencing unacceptable behaviour. The University’s Dignity at Work and Study Policy provides a framework for challenging bullying and harassment and the University will support anyone who experiences these behaviours.

To embed the University’s culture of inclusivity we invite staff and students to engage with the e-learning programmes accessible on ELITE/Safe Inclusive Campus Organisation. These are Consent Matters, Tackling Harassment and Online Safety.

Please complete these programmes, ideally before joining your course, and please do take time to read content warnings as some modules cover sensitive topics which are emotionally challenging. If you are affected by anything in these programmes please contact the Welfare Team at your campus using the following email address format: welfare-[campus location]@law.ac.uk.

Reports of unacceptable behaviour or wellbeing concerns can be made online at reportandsupport.law.ac.uk.

The University BAME Advocates have put together a blog post covering racism on social media and why abuse online is hard to stop. You can read it in full HERE.
