What are Clubs and Societies?
Clubs and societies at The University of Law are student-led. The Students' Union aims to empower students to take up that leadership role to create a club or society while offering guidance that enables them to succeed.
The Students' Union is here to encourage students to establish clubs and societies and help them to achieve their aims and objectives while increasing their presence on campus.
Approval of all clubs/societies remains with the Student Services department on each campus. Students can apply for registration and financial assistance from the University to set-up a club or society on their campus each academic year.
To set up a club or society, you will need a minimum of 3 current students to form a committee.
Social media for your society
While we very much encourage clubs and societies to create social media accounts to engage with their members. We do not allow an club or society to use "ulaw" or "the university of law" in their social media handles. If you set up a new society and include social media links that include this in them they will not be added and you will be asked to change your handles.
What clubs and societies can I join?
Students can only join clubs and societies based on their campus. While we encourage our clubs and societies to network and put on events together, individual students cannot join societies on a campus they aren't a student on. This is due to issues of finance and event provision.
