Have you always wanted to paint but you’re not sure where to start? Or you’ve got loads of painting equipment and just need a bit of inspiration to get going? Maybe you’re a complete beginner and you want to give it a try for the first time?

Ty's paint-along workshops are the perfect place to come and have a go at painting. We’ll paint something together with references provided, broken down into simple steps to follow. From complete beginners to seasoned painters, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Give yourself two hours to immerse yourself in the creative process and come away with a painting to be proud of.

In this autumn themed workshop, we are going to be painting a golden hour forest scene with autumn leaves and a beautiful bright sun glowing through the trees (as below).

Open to all ULaw students and their family members (children are also welcome), this is a great half-term activity to take two hours to yourself, or enjoy painting with others in your household as you're guided through the steps to create your masterpiece.

 

You will need:

• A5 paper, card or canvas - watercolour paper is best but you can use anything
• Washi tape (optional - to tape the edges for a border and to keep the paper still whilst painting)
• A jar of water
• Some kitchen roll for drying and cleaning brushes between colours
• Gouache or Acrylic paints (some cheap but good quality options are linked below)- *white, *yellow ochre, *primary yellow or lemon yellow, *light and dark brown, *red, *black
