Description

Who is the group for:
Bar Society: Online is for students aspiring to join the Bar or develop advocacy skills, whether studying full-time, part-time, or remotely. It welcomes anyone interested in courtroom practice, legal reasoning, and professional development within the legal sector.

The aims of our society are to:

1. Build a supportive community for aspiring barristers studying online
2. Provide practical insight into the Bar through events, workshops, and networking
3. Enhance members’ professional development and confidence

What activities we hope to plan:
We aim to host virtual advocacy workshops, guest speaker events with practising barristers, networking sessions, and mock trials. Members will also have opportunities to collaborate on legal discussions and share insights about pupillage and career progression.

Where activities will take place:
All activities will be held online, ensuring accessibility for students across all campuses and study modes.

What the group is focused on:
Our focus is primarily academic and professional, supporting members in developing advocacy, ethics, and legal analysis skills while fostering a supportive community for future barristers.

When activities can potentially take place:
Events will be scheduled throughout the academic year, typically in the evenings and weekends, to accommodate diverse study schedules.
