AI Literacy: How to Critically Evaluate Material Generated by AI

Learn how to tell the difference between accurate and misleading AI generated content.

AI and information literacy is paramount in today's digital landscape as artificial intelligence continues to shape various aspects of our lives, from the way we consume information to the decisions we make. Understanding AI not only enables individuals to navigate the vast sea of AI-generated content but also empowers them to discern between credible and misleading information. With AI literacy, individuals can effectively evaluate the biases inherent in AI algorithms, comprehend the nuances of data sources, and critically assess the reliability and validity of AI outputs. Moreover, AI literacy fosters a sense of empowerment, enabling individuals to harness the potential of AI technology for positive societal impact while mitigating the risks associated with its misuse. In an increasingly AI-driven world, AI literacy is not just a skill but a necessity for informed decision-making, ethical considerations, and meaningful engagement with emerging technologies.

Central to the session is the exploration of strategies for critically evaluating AI-generated content. Participants will learn to identify biases, understand data sources, and assess the reliability and validity of AI outputs. Through interactive exercises and case studies, attendees will hone their ability to question, challenge, and interpret AI-generated information effectively. By the end of the session, attendees will emerge with a heightened AI literacy, equipped with the tools and insights necessary to critically evaluate AI outputs and make informed decisions in an AI-driven world.
