Career Launchpad is a monthly online series which is aims to provide students and recent graduates with virtual access to career development resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities.
By leveraging digital platforms, the series will connect ULaw Students with alumni and employability experts globally.
Brought to you in collaboration with the Employability team, Alumni Office and Academic Staff, we hope this new initiative will support students with their career ambitions.

Catherine Morgan
After initially qualifying and practising for over 5 years as a commercial property solicitor at leading National law firms, Catherine moved into a new career as a Legal Recruiter, specialising in recruitment for Partners, Solicitors and paralegals in International, National and leading North West firms before joining the then College of Law, Manchester, when it opened in 2009.
Heading up the Careers provision for the Manchester campus for the past 15 years has given Catherine an intimate knowledge and understanding of the students needs and career aspirations coupled with an unrivalled awareness of the local, national and international legal market place. Catherine’s current role as Employability Group Manager has given her a National perspective on the delivery of Careers Services to an increasingly diverse national and international student body.
Usman Ghani
Usman Ghani Yousuf is a finance professional and career mentor dedicated to helping international students navigate the UK job market. With an MSc in Finance and experience across investment management, treasury, and analytics, he has secured competitive roles while overcoming the challenges of being an international graduate. Through mentoring
and sharing strategic insights, he has helped others unlock opportunities and grow with confidence. He believes that by guiding others, we not only help individuals succeed but also contribute to a stronger, more inclusive society. Passionate about leveraging AI in career development, Usman is committed to driving impact through knowledge-sharing and continuous learning.
Lordwin Anim
Having inspired countless young minds, students, and corporate professionals from such prestigious organizations as Salesforce, The Prince’s Trust, and VaynerMedia – and formerly serving in esteemed roles at Microsoft and as a dedicated secondary school teacher – Lordwin Anim is on a transformative mission.
