Black History Month 2024

Black History Month 2024

Black History Month is celebrated in the UK in October and is a celebration of the achievements and contribution of our Black community. It's also an opportunity to raise awareness of the struggles, injustices and biases that this group has had to overcome and still face.

Originally founded in the 80s to challenge racism and cover the history of people of African and Caribbean heritage in the UK not taught in schools, celebrations have expanded to include all Black and ethnic minority people, to ensure their stories are not lost through history.

Resources

We have collated a number of additional internal and external resources that we encourage you to engage with, as part of your learning and celebration of Black History Month. It includes playlists, external events, recordings, interviews, and more.
