Description

Empowered Voices Network will primarily target all students from underrepresented groups at our university interested in pursuing legal careers.

Activities:

  • Panel Discussion (Date: During February - date TBC) - Invite distinguished legal professionals and advocates for diversity and inclusion to speak about their experiences and insights.
  • Workshops and seminars on CV writing, Application cycle tips (Date: During April - Date TBC) - Conduct workshops on resume building, interview skills, public speaking and leadership. This will be in partnership with Gateley Legal and other external organisations.
  • Charity Collaborations (Date TBC) - Partner with charities and non-profits to promote and support initiatives focused on underrepresented groups in the legal sector.

These activities will take place at the University of Law, Birmingham Campus and/or virtually.

The establishment of Empowered Voices Network will bring numerous benefits to the University of Law, including:

1. Enhancing the university’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
2. Providing students with valuable networking and professional development opportunities.
3. Strengthening the university's connections with the legal community and relevant organisations.
4. Fostering a more inclusive and supportive campus environment.
5. Preparing students to be more competitive and socially conscious professionals in the legal sector.
