• ULaw TEDx partnership with University of Salford - around 10/15 of our students got to attend the TEDx conference and we are one of the main sponsors of the event. Free live stream links were distributed by InspireX - North society.

 

• Involvement in Ramadan Planning, different committees like ISEG, ISVC and SafeZone - one of my manifesto targets. Also Student Parliament and SU Governing Board meetings this month.

 

• Caught up with outstanding Monthly updates on the SU website - made both a written document and videos for each month.

 

• Huma and I took part in Carbon Literacy Training and passed the course - this helps develop the foundation of SU strategy and thinking on Sustainability, our SU carbon footprint and action plan to address areas of improvement.

 

• Start of Mayor Hustings in the West Midlands Project alongside sabbatical officers in other SUs - relationship building and introducing Birmingham students to local elections - A porject linked to a point in our student charter - one task was making a student West Midlands manifesto which mayoral candidates must pledge to do, including things like guarantor support and student discount for bus tickets and bus routes.

 

• Attended APPG in London on Housing Crisis (the 7th APPG that someone from ULaw SU has attended) - discussion was on guarantors, costs of accommodation, Cost of Living - notes from these sessions are circulated to all MPs in Parliament.

 

• Deal with TEDxHult London for our London based students to attend this TEDx Conference. 

 

• Took part in Public Speaking Training, so that I can represent the student voice on stage in a more clear and concise manner.

 

• Increasing our engagement on SU social media and presence on campus with consistent posters/posts/reels.
